How to Stay Balanced in the Chaos

Have you been feeling a lot of chaos lately? How does your mind, body, and heart respond to such intensity?

There is a lot of chaos continuing to unravel, in our individual lives and in the collective. I know it can be extremely overwhelming to the human system and send it spiraling… here are some things I have been using to keep me in a balanced state.

  1. Radical Presence & Acceptance
    • Eckhart Tolle style – really though, the more you can practice being PRESENT and being receptive to what is HERE NOW (not the past/future projections of an anxious mind), the more in your true power you will be. Remember who you ARE. Pay attention to what is HERE NOW – it is full of treasures that will guide you home.
  2. Self-Compassion
    • Being understanding with yourself – especially with the parts of you that may be freaking out. Realizing that the way you feel DOES make sense, and you don’t need to shame, beat yourself up, or gaslight yourself for it. You are a human being navigating a challenging, tricky, and sometimes brutal world. Allow a deeper love and compassion to emerge for you so that dark thoughts don’t have to send you spiralling.
  3. Somatic Exercises
    • In other words- allowing yourself to FEEL FULLY the emotions that arise, and learning how to allow them to move physically through your body without judging/resisting/suppressing them. The better you get at this, the less you will be controlled by your emotions, and the better you will become at creating your experience of life more consciously.
  4. Coming Back to Neutral
    • You don’t have to always try to be “high vibe”. Being neutral – in your center- is ENOUGH. Neutrality is fearlessness. It is magnetic. It is clear. You will naturally spiral upwards when you stop beating the drum to how awful your life is. Get present. When we act from trauma-response we find ourselves fighting and flighting and moving in “self-sabatoging” ways. Action taken from a neutral place within you will often yield far more enjoyable results than action taken from a negative place.
  5. Letting God In
    • God is trying to come in through every experience arising in your life – ESPECIALLY the challenging ones – but you have to allow. ASK. Ask God to come in. Ask for guidance. For help. And then receive. This will assist greatly in opening up the divine channels for you. Allow yourself to receive God by being open and creating SPACE.
  6. Being Aware of Thoughts
    • Do you know that it is almost always not your circumstances causing your suffering, but your THOUGHTS around them? The stories you believe are POWERFUL. Your thoughts will dictate a lot of how you feel and then how you act- ultimately creating your results, which your thoughts will continue to comment on. This is the sum of your life. Get AWARE of your thoughts – write them down – and start to question if they are really worth believing in. This work will help you to get conscious and create a healthier mindset and awareness.
  7. Staying in Tune With Your Intuition At All Costs
    • Your intuition (your feelings) is your true compass. Not your logical mind. Your intuition is always trying to guide you towards your greatest soul alignment and experience. Tune in.
  8. Clear the Body (Your TEMPLE)
    • Processed foods, smoking, alcohol, gossiping, complaining, etc. – being around and participating in dense behaviors/consumption will clog the body, influence the mind, and make it harder to receive intuitive guidance. Consider fasting or eating light, taking a break from social media, setting firmer boundaries with people not respecting you, meditating, etc. Deeper breathing. Sunlight. Nature. Rest. Exercise. Whatever your body needs to assist in restoring its natural balance.

Surely, you have your own toolkit you may use when dealing with intensity and chaos.

Know that you CAN handle whatever you are in.

The moments that challenge you – are the moments that help you develop true grit, strength, wisdom, and persistence. It is very hard to get these qualities from words alone.

You’ve got this, and you will move through it, and you will have many gifts along the way and on the other side, that which will work to serve you and others more than you know.
