Musings on Embodying Your Soul
Spiritual awakening is not only about connecting to the divine light you are in times of meditation; it is about BEing this conscious connection in your daily life and its many circumstances. This becomes highlighted as we are faced with greater intensity in our lives. As we evolve our consciousness, we perceive more, and without the simple skill of awareness, this can lead to a bottomless suffering within mere illusions of the programmed mind. With the skill of awareness, it becomes the ride of a lifetime.
One could say this embodiment is the practice of praising God every day, every hour, every minute. Praising the living God within you and within us all. Celebrating LIFE as the MYSTERY that it is, rather than constantly trying to understand and control it.
When I say praising God, it is just another way of conveying the skill of being fully present throughout your day. Remembering who YOU really are, as an infinite divine consciousness in a body. It’s a celebration. An offering. Every moment.
Focusing on your presence as you go about the most mundane and ordinary moments. Being present in the scary or stressful or confusing moments. Opening up to the infinite awareness in each moment.
Becoming unshakeable by the chaos of the dream, because you are so firmly rooted in the fertile soil of Truth. Because, seemingly paradoxically, even when you ARE shook to your core by life-your roots remain firmly planted in truth.
This is about shifting your very state of being from that of the programmed mind/ego to that of the soul. It is beyond realization, it is the state of BEING that which you have realized.
It doesn’t mean that you don’t experience fear, anxiety, confusion, etc… it means that you’re able to SEE these energies clearly for what they are, without letting them control you. Because again, you are firmly planted in what you TRULY are.
This is not a concept to just understand; this is a divine SKILL and it can be practiced and mastered by anyone who is committed to their enlightenment. This is the state of Being that was demonstrated and taught to us by Jesus Christ and the ascended masters.
It is not an external change as much as it is an internal one (though internal shifts will always be reflected in the external).
The soul’s presence has the infinite potency to set us FREE in every now moment (and ONLY in the NOW moment), no matter how intense or complicated or seemingly impossibly trapped we seem. This is a freedom that the ego is incapable of; this is a freedom that the soul can’t help but BE. This is the key to an unconditional, undying joy beyond the intense field of duality we find ourselves standing in. We are not avoiding life nor are we clinging to it- we are moving through AS life itself.
When one gets a taste of this state, profound realizations about the nature of reality are inevitable. It becomes clear the futility of so many attachments we once clinged to or identified with/as to maintain a sense of safety. The paradigms, thoughts, emotions, happenings all are able to appear as they really are, rather than through the very limited lens of the programmed dual mind.
It doesn’t make the “mundane” any less real or sacred. In fact, it brings a new dimension of joy to all human experiences- for in this space we can honor and revere the human experience as the wild, powerful, and even thrilling rollercoaster ride that it is. We can be in life, fully in the body, while also fully in the spirit at the same time. We can let go of trying to control everything and trust the greater, unseen part of ourselves. It feels like walking multidimensionally with God. Or walking on water with Jesus.
This is a different kind of control, a different kind of order. A deeper trust and safety in what is arising, even in the trials and tribulations. ESPECIALLY in the trials and tribulations. In this state we need not try to bypass what is arising nor attach to it; we realize our ability to accept it and flow through the rapids and the calms with the same invincible spirit that we truly are. We recognize God within us is guiding us through it all. The force of the soul is invincible and unphasable by ANYTHING of this world.
In this state, every moment is eternally new. Living life is our prayer. Relationships are our mystery schools. Challenges are a curious fascination. Our weaknesses are our powers. We become in unity with every part of ourselves when we can let go of the programs, the stories, the beliefs, the thoughts that before were controlling our perception and our very reality. We are able to align our minds correctly and use them, rather than the autopilot state in which our minds control us. We watch in amazement and even bewilderment at times, at how the deeply rooted beliefs that limited our life are able to dissolve into a more expansive experience. The impossible becomes possible. It is just like waking up out of a dream-because it literally is!
Now again, this is a practice, this is a skill we have to put effort into. For anyone who truly commits to soul embodiment, to unconditional presence, to praising God every moment will quickly discover how easily and quickly one can get pulled back into the ego’s order of being- identifying and being controlled by the beliefs, the thoughts, the patterns of our mind. However like any skill, we simply just keep practicing. And when we get pulled back into the illusion, we simply practice non-judgementally and compassionately coming back to the practice. That’s the beauty of who we are- it is infinitely available in EVERY now moment and only in the now moment. As Jesus taught there is complete mercy and forgiveness for all acts of unconsciousness in this state. We are being reborn every moment. There is no bottomless trench that our light cannot pull us out of.
This is where our determination, our focus, our power is critical. For we must put in the effort to come back to presence. Sometimes it feels like we must force ourselves back on the way, if we are truly committed to our embodiment. For the illusion is strong and seductive as could be, and it’s ability to coax us back to sleep is humbling to say the least. Divine Discipline is REQUIRED of us to pull ourselves up and back into presence, back into the way. To, with all of our might, pull our focus back to the truth and relinquish the ego’s hard-wired methods of “control”. We are asked to BE in the unknown.
Resilience and laser beam focus is necessary. This is the effort we must put in for liberation. To walk this earth in full Union with God, with Jesus Christ as a beaming example for us all.
In conclusion, remember the deep grace that is within you. We are evolving our consciousness and so the “falling down and getting back up” is a part of the process, it is a part of the climb of the ladder of consciousness. Each lesson you learn along the walk back home will serve you and it will serve others infinitely. Only in presence are we able to know all of this in an instant, at any given moment.
